FOR MY FRIEND AND THIS IS AVA

I made this card with my friend melody in mind I met her shortly after we moved to Elizabeth City and for the longest time we did everything together and then it happened transfer season and the damn coast guard took her away from me !!!!! well that happens and it will keep happening as long as Marty is in the USCG!!!!!! ( I don't hate the USCG just miss my friend)!!!!!

the base is close to cocoa and I also used river rock and SS white CS every thing on this card is stamped there is no patterned paper!! I used print patterns and the wheel that came with this set( the name is not coming to me). the ink close to cocoa creamy caramel river rock! I distressed all of the edges use my super coo large eyelets and some SU ribbon all done I really hope Mel likes it!!!!!

Like I promised this is Ava and she is T-R-O-U-B-L-E this kid's middle name should be just that trouble I bet you don't believe me by how cute and sweet she "LOOKS" well I am here to tell ya this one is the cutest hand full you will ever meet!!! she has her daddy wrapped as tight as one little girl can he told me last night to go and get her in bed so that she dose not try to walk all over him!!! I thought that was funny because I had been telling him what a push over he was for months!!!!! Don't get me wrong she is compassionate and as sweet as can be when she is in the mood!

this picture is of her on Christmas with her snake (she sleeps with this)! the next pic is of Ava and I on our yearly family camping trip in Oregon> she got in to so much trouble on this trip (what a stinker)

and the last pic is baby we don't do anything with out this she has had it from the time she was 4 months old and will most likely have it for years to come I think there are more pics of baby than there are Thatcher!! sad right!!!

You and Me!!!! And HANKY

First the card this is the card I made for my DH and he will most likely see it before he should but that is okay. Marty and I will have been together for seven year on march 25 and we like this date better than our wedding anniversary neither of us ever remember that one (June 11 I think)!!

Print patterns is one of the stamps that every body had before me and I always wanted but never got , so when I went on my SU shopping spree I got it!! And I love it big time it is so easy to give a card many layers with just this one stamp!!!! the butterfly is from natures touch and it is watercolor and heat embossed (3layers) to make it a bit stronger!!!come to think of it every thing on the card is from SU! cool I just noticed that!!!

Now today it is Hanks turn to show off his cute-ness he is my doll baby, a big ham. he is so silly. Hank is one of those kids you just have to love!!!

this is him on Christmas morning and he could have cared less about any of his new toy he wanted to play with the tupper-wear...... just like a kid!!!!!

I am the biggest sucker for a good sketch challenge, and this one was a great one! I started this last nigh and just now got it done, because the little cutie in the pics below needed mommy to hold him till 2:am. How can you say no to something that darn cute! The card is done in aqua mist and very vanilla CS ans SU! DP! the ink is Aqua mist and I have a little update on my thoughts on this ink! If you use a smooth CS like SU's white and vanilla and make sure that your stamp is inked evenly you will not get the blotchyness that I did on the SS white CS! So many pros and cons but I have to say that the pros out weigh the cone and both the paper and ink are worth the buy!!!!back to the card, the heart is stamped in WW craft ink and heat embossed with ranger"s clear EP. them I sponged aqua mist over the entire heart and it is darker than the bird because it is stamped on aqua mist the bird is stamped on VV cut out and popped up for dimension the live your bliss is from PTI's mixed massages and the bird and heart are SU! always!!!!! My favorite thing about this card is it's soft feel!!!!

yes I know that I did one like this a few days ago, but when Emily posted the CC I had to make another. This set was meant for these colors, river rock, black, and white. what a clean feel the colors have!!!

Now all of you out in blog land are so lucky you were not siting in my stamp room with me, because when I finished the card and sat back to look at it for a minute, I noticed the the main image was not straight and that made a few choice words fly from my mouth, I was just so pleased with the card until then. the sewing machine did its job and I love the colors the ribbon just feel into place!!!! I was patting myself on the back for a job well done then.... I had to stop and look at it when it was to late to fix it (darn it)!!!!

oh well poo poo happens!!! HE HE HEEEEE LOL

take 2

this is card #2 for today's TLC over at SCS and I think that I love this card I used 12 different DP's, just the scraps hanging out on my desk! I tell ya I hate to trash anything no matter what the size and see the tiny scraps do get used!!! My DH is always asking why I keep a 1inch scrap of paper . well love it is for cards like this!!!!

The card base is paper trey's super thick white card stock this stuff call to you and say "use me you know you want to." well for a card base anyways, SU still has the smoother white CS, and the ink just looks better on it. but for a card base you cant beat PTI!!!!!!!

There is not much ink on the card but the ink I did use was also just hanging out on my desk Brilliant blue and Pumpkin pie and the stamps are shapes by design and mixed messages by PTI!!! the two punches used are 3/4 inch square and the small star from SU! I hope you like it

Count Down!!!!!!!

In 9 days I will be 28 and in 16 days my blog will be one!!!! I have passed 100 posts and over 20,000 hits on this very blog!!!! so in 16 days I will post BLOG CANDY!!!! I wont tell what it will be but I will tell you that it will be good ( I have done a tone of shopping!!!!

So Thatcher has been crying for 3 days and the only thing he wants is me, that is totally okay he is my last baby and I love to cuttle and nap with him, but it kind of cuts into the stamping time!!! So for the last few days Thatcher has won over stamping. The super simple cards that you see here, should have only taken an hour, but took most of the day!!!!

the card base is stamper select form PTI and the colored CS is real red and spring moss (PTI). Now I have to tell ya that I can not get the feel for the PTI ink SU just go's on so even and pretty every time and PTI ink looks messy and yuck at first but smooths its self out later I have the hardest time waiting for something I have made to look good!!!!!

So I used Certainly celery in place of spring moss not a "Perfect Match" but I still think that it looks good!!!! the stamps are a mix of new and old PTI stamps! I used Women of life, polka dot basics, green thumb, and beautiful blooms! Also sorry about the picture it is a bit dark and crowded the was not enough room in my Picture tent of all three and I was to lazy to take and edit three pictures!!! All 6 cards say thank you friend and are being stored in a clear box to be given as a gift later!!!

this is for SC164 but I am not sure it really follows much of the sketch, well it kind of dose and that is all that counts!!!!

I used SU DP, Basic Black, River Rock, and Confetti cream I think it kind of makes it guy-ish looking, minus the butterflies that is!!!!the stamps are Kind thoughts, and define your life my new faves!!!! I got the brads at paper wishes and the ribbon and pearl are both from SU!

the butterflies are stamped in River rock and sponged in Basic Black and the edges are pierced!!!! this was a fun and quick card to make, and after I get done folding 25 loads of laundry I might find some time to stamp a little more!!!!

What A Fun Day!!!!!

I love love love to get new stuff and boy did I today! Mr. brown ask me if I was going to stamp up the world, what a funny guy!!! there were 4 20lbs boxes dropped off to day and let me tell you I had no clue where to start!!!!! so can you tell by looking at the card that they are only SU! I am not sure that I have ever made a non work shop card that was all SU!

the first set of cards uses Kind Thoughts stamp set and the new tea party DP the CS is groovy guava, Close to Cocoa and confetti cream! the ribbon (I can't remember the name) is sooooooo pretty I love the ribbon!!!!! the pearl is from the pretties kit and the ribbon slide is some old HPH! I pierced the edges ans filled them in with close to cocoa. I left the sentiment off so I could use them for anything!!!!

this next card is also using SU! DP and the only thing on here that is not SU! is the sewing and there is sewing in the catty this year so I would say that makes it okay!!!

I watercolor the main image with reinkers and N-WWC love to water color!!!!! pierced the edges and did you notice and this never happens for me...... I did not layer the main image and there is only 4 layers on the card. kind of like the way it looks!!!! the colors are soft sky and so saffron!!! and that is the new silver HPH from the new mini!!!! I distressed the edges and slapped a thank you on there, done!!!!

Yes I know not the most original on my part but I had to do some thing to keep up my everyday post and the kise would not let me get a good picture of them!!!

So this is my most favorite baby stamp right now and I love the onise cards I did not think that me posting them would happen seeing how every body and there dog is a new "mytime" caser well now so am I they were just to cute to pass up!!!!

I have to ask ya'll what your fav part of the FEB release at PTI was because I have to tell ya I am all the way in love with the "I want it all" button!!!!

I so can not wait till my new PTI gets here!!!!

My stampin up order will get here tomorrow and my mom and I got some stuff from ep. so I should not run out of new ideas for a long while

Dirty Dozen Sketch And Inspiration

I made this card to send to a friend and now it is going to sit and wait to be loved because Sarah (that's me) made the card to big for the envelopes that I have oh well I will find a way!!!! the card is 5 1/2 x 5 1/2, this is a fun size to add a lot of detail. To just make it a little work of art, and that is why I used texture CS for the sunflowers. I think it makes them look like they are painted on a canvas. After I stamped the flowers I sponged and distressed the edges the sanded the piece as a whole, this giving it a kind of washed out look! I chose the colors that where in the IC piece and added some stitching around the sides this was a fun challenge I like that I did not have to use any DP I think if I had it to do over again I would not use the same color flowers for the main image!!!! I still really like the card even with the flowers!!! TFL :D

well with the gallery down at SCS I linked ya'll here I hope that is not a NO NO!!! I can not wait till the gallery is back, I mean I might like have to clean my house or or worse leave my house and go out into the real world (I am not really that lame)!!!

okay so on the card, It is 2:15 am here, and the light is not the best at that time believe it or not. I am not sure that you can tell the the colors are blush blossom, old olive, and close to cocoa, but they are. The stamps are PTI! I kind of think that the butterfly's count as circles because of the inside pattern, if not them whoops I am a cheater!!!HEE HEE LOL!!!

This being the LSC and all, I did keep it down a bit. I went with No ribbon or stitching and all the other goodies I could have put on here, and oddly enough I am okay with that!! (mom I think you might be rubbing off on me)

Try some Color Combos

I was hanging out with a friend tonight, and there was nothing to do so we through a card together (in 2 hours), while we sat around and gabbed! This is what we came up with. The card base is Kraft. I just could not choice between black and cocoa. So I went with my fav, and used Kraft. The DP is some by.... yep you guessed it Basicgrey, it is layered on blush blossom and old olive. I was kind of on the fence about the color combo at first, but went with it and I am sooooo happy I did!!!!!

the flowers were stamped in jet black on WW CS, then the blush and olive were wiped across the top (mostly because I was doing that lazy thing again)
then we cut them out!
I did use my new sewing machine on this card and I have to tell ya there have been a lot of people ask me to give them pointers, sewing on there cards and I had to kind of snicker because I have only had the machine for a week, and (I am blushing) I had to get my DH to threat the darn thing the first few times!!!!! Okay that is enough...... you can stop laughing at me now!!!
I did finally get the hang of it with out breaking the thing! so here is what I am getting at if I can do it anybody can (that is if they have a DH like mine)!!!!

This is my out of body experience, I don't know where Sarah was while I sat there at my desk and made this!!!!! There is no embellishments on this card!!!! No ribbon and no brads this just can't be mine!!! well it is mine, and I have no clue how it came to be but here it is!!!

It all started last night when Thatcher was NOT sleeping, and Shelly (papermoon04) posted the sketch challenge early. so I thought why not, I haven't made a card today. I sat down to my trashed desk and pulled all of the scraps together from the last few cards. Then looked on the floor beside my desk and saw Beautiful blooms (PTI) and out on a limb (PTI) so I went with that. I know I sound lazy right!

well the laziness kept right on I did not want to get up to get the ribbon and I just could not find the hole punch in all the mess so brads were out of the "?" so I cut out a few flowers and added the sentiment ran it through the machine and called it good!!!!

The Same But Different

I was not going to post these, but when I saw the color challenge and that it contained two bold bright colors, I then knew that I was not doing the CC!!!! I am no stranger to Kraft CS, I love the stuff and use it often. I have even used it with bold brights, but not green and turquoise, that is just yuck!!!! So this is what I decided to do for my post today. I made the baby cards last night and I love them, they are all very close to the same as the last post, but also different in many ways! I changed the side panel from Mellow Moss to Soft Sky, and the stitching along the side from straight to a pretty leafy vine. I moved and changed the ribbon so that it did not cover the super cute main image!

I did not sponge the perimeter of the card this time but I did keep the sponging on the main image

the colors are the same just moved so that it is not so in your face green (my fav color is mellow moss)

A Baby Card

Just when I thought that was not going to Need and baby card for a while, every thing changed and now I have a list of baby cards to Make!!!

I like this one non-gender specific, but still pretty and this is the time of the year that I can't seem to get away from "pretty" I just make me feel like winter is almost gone!!!

I have to keep this short I have 4 Babies that want dinner

I used soft sky moss Kraft and WW CS and Basicgrey DP the stamp set is green thumb from PTI and the accessories are ribbon brads sewing flowers and a sponge (soft sky on main image)!!!

OMGosh YOU are all the best!!!!!

I have been sitting at the computer off and on for most of the day, and I have to say that there are some amazing people out there!!! last night I went to see who the FS was because I was board and thought that making a card would fix that!!!! Well I never got around to making that card last night because the FS was ME I could not pry myself away from this very spot I had to read every single thing ad look at every card and I was loving every min. thank you all so much!!!! I have had 30 new Subscriptions on my blog and over 1200 hits on my counter words for how great that is......... well I don't have any I am just speechless so again thank you!!!!

Here Are The Polka Dots!!!

See I said I would give you polka dots and here they are!!!! This is a V-day gift for Jasmine's teacher. I have only talked to her a hand full of times , and Jasmines came home from school one day before thatcher was born with a gift for me from MRS. Lilly, she is really a very sweet lady!!!

The DP used here is Bali breeze (loooooooooove it) and the 2 1/4 panels are red and regale rose!!! I added a lot of flowers to make it look like spring!

I thought that it made the pretty paper I bit more fun and not so v-day-ish

On the bowl portion I used the brads to keep the hole thing from falling in on it's self!!!! it is not very pretty when that happens, and this also make the bowl feel stronger!

hello all I bet you want to know what I was thinking when it came to color combo, well I am here to tell you!!!!

First I started with the DP (blush by Basicgrey) and I pulled the ruby and coral from that, although I think the guava would have worked better!! them me being the kind of person unable to do simple, could not use just two colors. I had to find another, so off to the scrap box I went, and I did the close my eyes and grab thing! (I wanted to cheat and try again) oddly enough it worked!!!! I love the colors together, I think that it helped to make it look like night time for the main image!!! tell me what you think!!!!

I just love it when all the the babies take a nap at the same time it is so sweet of them!!!!! A good long nap leaves me time to ether stamp, clean house, or take a nap myself. I bet you can't guess what I choice do do with nap time today!!!

To be honest I did not like the CC but I could not let what happen last week happen again I could not play last wee because the colors were sooooooooooooooooooooo yuck!!!

So any-who the colors are real red apricot and ballet blue (had to open both ink and paper for that blue). I have tons of those flowers but never use them but this cart was a bit naked with out them and I cant make a naked card I don't know how!!!

3 for 1 challenge

I am just lovin this layout, I think I need to make another!!!! well here was my thought behind this card. I wanted to pull the colors from the room in the IC113 pictures at SCS. http://www.splitcoaststampers.com/forums/attachment.php?attachmentid=81374&d=1201926458 and I wanted it to follow the WSC33 over at Beate's. http://beate.blogs.splitcoaststampers.com/ I also wanted something "pretty" and that so happens to work for the SSnotime20 seen here. http://notimetostamp.blogs.splitcoaststampers.com/

The card base is basic gray and the other colors used are..... well many. creamy caramel, sage, going gray, and s-sand. I also used a piece of basic grey DP for the brown panel you see. I stamped the flower 6 times and watercolor it with my sage, caramel, and cocoa, classic stamp pads. This is my fav way of coloring these days, lord only knows why I spent the money on all the other forms of coloring. But I do go back to them from time to time. I them layered the flowers and placed the on two off set squares of diff sizes in going and basic greys love those colors!!! the grey in this card came from the blanket on the arm of the couch in the IC piece I did not think that I was going to be able to pull it off with the rest of the color that I chose but in the end I think that it worked out nicely!!!

I am going to give this card to my midwife she has now delived two of my children and is a very sweet lady I hope that she likes it!!!
