FS60 and a SFYTT

Laura's over at scrapnextras is the FS today and let me be the first to say wow what a great gallery!!!!! and she is sweet she leaves the best comments!!! So when I saw Laura's was the FS I got right to work and made this card I besides Beth I am the first in the gallery!!!!

I am so happy for Laura she is soooo one of my favs I just love everything she makes but my choice was an easy one because I did a simple beauty and it can be mass produced for my daughters 8th birthday!!!!! here is the card I did http://www.splitcoaststampers.com/gallery/photo/850554?cat=500&ppuser=18892the changes are many colored base diff DP diff flower stitching instead of layering and no ribbon tabs same stamp set diff sentiment and button instead of felt flowers and brad and with all of the changes I made I still think it looks like Laura's!!!!!!
this is for jens SFYTT and what a great one she has out done herself with the last two week sketches they have both made for great stamping!!!! Now I have to point out the knot on my ribbon this never happens for me and I have no clue how I did it this time but look it is perfect!!!!! most of the time it is messy and it looks backwards so yah for me!!!! I can not believe that I am happy with such a bold (bright) card!!!! but I am!!!

and I have one more thing to show you and that is Ava in her new rain coat with umbrella sooooooooooo cute

goodnight and

Sssshhhhhh!!! they are sleeping!!!!!

alright I understand that I have four kids and that that means I don't get as much quite time as I think I need............ BUT COME ON ALREARY!!!!!! this cute little collage of thatcher is what he has done for the past MONTH, can you stop crying!!!!!!! No really this is what I get, and if I want him to scream louder all I have to do is try to get him to take a bottle. By the look on his face when I put a bottle in his mouth, you would think it was acid or something poison. He gags, and spit, and screams, if he could talk he would be saying "gross why cant I just have my booby!!!!!" and I would tell him "because you have nursed 500000000000000000 times today, I have nothing left, and they HURT!!!!!!!!!!!" But that is not how it is, and I just have to suck it up!!!! DH has learned to clear out when I feed him or he will get is head bit off!!! Poor guy!!!

on top of all of this it is stincken spring break and Jasmine is home to fight with Ava and Henry!!!!!! No really she fight with an 18 month old baby over WHAT HOLLY CRAP!!!!!
WE Finley took Ava's pacifier away and can you say cry baby, but really Ava you are 3 1/2 and you won't quit biting holes in them so NNNNNOOOOOO you can not have it!!!!!!!
and for yet another gripe TV writers SUCK all I want is to sit down and watch my shows when the kids finely pass out from there day of making me crazy but no they had to have more money SHUT- UP dude I get paid in crappy diapers so so give me back my grey's and house wives and quit your B****ing!!!!!
Okay I think I feel better now and when Thatcher decides that boobs are not the only food in the world it going to be Hay DOC pass the pacsol please!!!!
so on to better thing we had a few shinning moments today and I have to say they made up for the rest of it look at the beautiful smiles that Thatcher quit crying long enough to give us this is what makes being a mommy all worth it

I think he likes the bumbo and he looks so cute in it this wonderful purple chair that I got free from a friend gave me 30 minutes of no screaming.... well from him anyways and the picture below is the best smile ever Daddy was playing with his scrawny legs!!!! life is beautiful in these moments!!!!!

thank you so much if you made it to the end of this post I am so grateful to get that off my chest!!!!
now I am going to see if maybe Rox posted the sketch challenge early that would be great!!!!!

WSC39 happy bunny day!!!!

I Find that I am kind of being a lazy stamper, mostly because I can't seem to come up with a good sketch all on my own!!!! I think a;most every thing I have uploaded in the past week or two has bee a blog or SCS sketch. This card is no different this one is for Beate WSC39 (I think 39)!!! on the upside of my creative funk I totally love this card!!! the colors are a bit off and that makes me love it more. I went with spring moss (PTI) and groovy guava (SU) the stamps are favorite weddings (PTI) and infinite goodness (SU). the DP is everyday blessings (PTI).

I water colored the pears and dragonfly and pulled it all together with the sewing machine and ribbon my two fave accessories

hope you like!!!!

TFL :D

PS: look what the bunny gave Hanky

he loves his new radio flyer!!!!

2 New Cards & Some Funny Kids

So I got My New PTI goodies and just had to play and I was going to post this yesterday but then my stomach went crazy so I went to bed early!!!!! this first card is for Jens SFYTT what a super fun sketch I have plans for another one but hubby is in clean mode so as soon as everything is picked up I can mack my card. lets just say I have green in mind!!!! All CS and DP is from PTI's March release!!! The one stamp I used is favorite weddings and the butterfly is Marta Stewart. I ran the base through the CS with birds and swirls the Big eyelets are from SU and the ribbon is PTI. the strip in the middle I punched out circles with my small punch to make the border and the sewed it love this card but I think it could use another color!!!!!
this card is just me playing with all my new PTI and some where along the lines I forgot to stop the stamp set is " It's a Celebration" and the flowers I got at Mikes I tied a knot wit the new twill for the centers! all CS and DP is the other card!!!
now onto to the funny stories I promised I am having a bit of trouble with the e-mail the winner gave me so it this is your story please e-mail me with your snail mail!!!!

so Love the cards. Hank you silly boy babies aren't supposed to take baths in the potty. You are right Sarah that did make me laugh. Now for my story Olivia can't reach the toys at the bottom of her toy box so about once a day I find her screaming with her feet over her head stuck in the toy box. That is the funniest one I have for you right now. Love ya sissy and hank go potty in the big potty not put baby in there.

Wow. That tulip card is so so fantastic! I am completely jealous of your talent. Can I just *be* you?I don't have a lot of silly kid stories, because I haven't convinced my hubby to have one yet :) But I do have an adorable story about my friend's kid. He just turned 4, and he is completely enthusiastic about everything -- especially presents. Most kids will just kid of take the present and run without so much as a forced thank you from their parents, but not this kid. He is overly excited about every present he ever gets. So for valentine's day, I took him over a little car coaster box that I had filled with some goodies. One of which was a granola bar in one of those ever-popular candy bar covers. So I give it to him, and he looks at the cover and says "what's this?" and I tell him to pull the ribbon to get it out, and he does. And he gets THE most happy look on his face and screams out in complete joy "I've always wanted a granola bar for a PRESENT!" Completely serious. How funny is that?

Kids can do the most amazing things and get into trouble by just being curious!! My son was much more mischevious than my daughter -- it's a boy thing I think. He had a bead craft bead shoved up his nose once and I had to use tweezers to get it out. Thankfully, he KNEW I was going to be able to help him and he sat very still while I tried various sizes of tweezers to get it out. Luckily one worked and we saved ourselves a trip to emergency. My son also did a rather gross thing -- only for the strong stomached ones here! My daughter was potty trained but had a hard time getting on the big toilet so she had a potty on the floor she could use and then dump into the toilet. She had to go #2 on the potty so I went upstairs to get something quickly. She started to call me loudly and when I got down to the bathroom I saw a horrible site!! My dear son (about a 8 months old at the time) had made his way to the potty and helped himself to its contents! He has smeared the walls and the floor quite nicely and worst of all had shoved some in his mouth!!! Well, I almost tossed my cookies at that sight and then again when I had to dig it out of his mouth. Needless to say he got a THOROUGH cleaning of his mouth! Fears of a horrible disease never came to fruition and it is an event that will never be forgotten! Thanks for the chance to win :)

Sarah, Your work is just gorgeous and I love reading about your kids. Thought I'd share one of my funny stories. We were in the car and I was scolding my daughter, who was 9 years old at the time, when my 3 year-old son chimed in from the back seat "Yes Sissy, you be good or you goin' to jubinile hall!" Of course my daughter and I just cracked up. I have no idea where he had even heard of juvenile hall, let alone what it meant.

My year and a half old granddaughter was found in the kitchen squatting down beside the dog's water bowl. BOTH she and the dog had their tongues in the bowl lapping up water together. When her mother shouted out asking what she was doing she replied, "I firsty Mommy!"

ACK! My daughter never played in the potty...YAY! :) One of my fav things about when my daughter was younger (she's 9 now) was her use of words. A few years ago, we went to Disney World...it was my DD's first trip. On our 3rd day there, we were talking about going to Epcot, but DD insisted that it was "Apricot"...very stubbornly, I might add, so "Apricot" became our name for Epcot ever since. Love the card!

Sarah these cards are fab, love the tulip one and all your stitching My story is one of many, and I really should write them down so I can show her when she is older, because out of my three girls, she totally cracks me up, lol Last year, as a typical 3 year old, she would not sit down for love nor money, so I threw out the comment in front of my aunt, Maddie do you have ants in your pants or something (just your typical saying to somebody who won't sit still) - oh no, she proceeded to drop her trousers, yank down her pants and peer in them with her head nearly between her knees to see, and looks up and says, "I don't have any ants in my pants mummy!!!!!!!!!!!!" OMG we nearly wet ourselves laughing, it was the funniest thing, you should have seen the expression on her face, totally priceless and that is one story I will never forget to tell her when she is older. xx

So Sarah, I think you were about three when i got in the car and you were pale as a ghost... no color in your face at all. I thought you were sick. I noticed a tiny piece of toilet paper stuck yo your chin and I asked your dad what happened He told me to ask you.... You said, "I shaved Mommy!" and stared sobbing uncontrollably. It was the first time you had ever seen your own blood and it frightened you so much you almost went into shock!!! I have a million of them Want to hear some more.....Your cards are beautiful by the way! I love you!

Your cards are just fabulous! I love both of them:)I have enjoyed reading all the stories about the children:)I am raising 2 of my grandchildren, a boy 11 and a girl that just turned 5. When my granddaughter came home from preschool Thursday her teacher had given all the children an Easter basket with 6 plastic eggs inside. Later that afternoon she was walking around the house with her basket and she had her eyes closed. I asked her what she was doing and she replied"hiding my Easter eggs". So I asked her why she had her eyes closed and she said so she couldn't see where she hid them!!!LOL A few minutes later she ran into the kitchen just jumping with excitement because she "found" them all!!LOL

I have a funny one! My two young boys 3, and 6 were sleeping together the other night. My youngest woke up screaming and when we went to him he was half asleep and crying that he had lost his Lightning McQueen car, and wanted it! As we were trying to console him, my older son wakes up all grumpy and says "You woke me up and I was having such a great dream!" To which my 3 yr old replied:"Were YOU dreaming about playing with MY Lighting McQueen??" I'm still laughing!Deena (moonrise)I also wanted to say that your card is just wonderful! I love everything about it, so I added a link in my 'Today's Faves!' on my blog! Have a great day!

Ok, took some time to think about what it would be (we have a lot of funny stories around here), but here it is... My daughter was teething bad so we had a bottle of Orajel on her dresser in case she woke up in the middle of the night. My son, almost 3 at this point, went in her room to greet her after her nap like he did every day. All of a sudden it got really quiet, so I cautiously opened the door and found my son on top of the dresser with the cap "off" the Orajel. I asked him, with a smile on my face, what he was doing to which he replied, "This tastes good mommy!" Within 30 seconds the next thing out of his mouth, picture this with a numb tongue accent "My thongue theels thunny!" I was absolutely HYSTERICAL. From that point on I learned to run when it gets quiet :-)

Hi Sarah, Love the cards and the story...what a hoot....My story involves a toilet too...except that this one was in the local B&Q depot store....My son who was 18 months and being potty trained at the time....suddenly ran away from me in the store and I found him on the toilet in one of the bathroom displays and when he saw me he said "mummy I did a poo in the toilet, am I a good boy now"...I was horrified he got off and sure enough he had done one....!!!I wish I had a mobile phone then that I could have taken a picture with....that would have been one for the 18th birthday party !!Hugs Janette x

My daughter taught me a very important lesson a few months back: do not, I repeat, do not take something from your 3 year old without looking to see what "gift" you are getting. My daughter is always handing me stuff, usually while I'm driving. Maybe, it's her cereal bar wrapper. Or her empty sippy cup. Or her sucker stick. Well, early one morning--like 4 am--my daughter came to my bedside and said "Here you go, Mommy". I was half-asleep and reached out my hand without a question. Then she rubbed something on my hand. I asked her what it was. "It's poopy" she replied. Before I even knew it, my hand was at my nose and I took a whiff. What was I thinking? It turns out that Allie had a poopy in her pull up (never happended since potty training) and decided that Mommy was just the person to help her out. After I realized what I had on my hand, I bolted up out of the bed and started sqealing to my husband. Of course, he laughed...and laughed...and laughed. Guess who got to scrub the kid while I scrubbed myself? That'll teach him to laugh at me for having poopy on my hand!--melissalance@bellsouth.net

I am sitting her laughing so hard at these stories! You will have one rough time picking which one makes you laugh the hardest for sure!We only have 1, Zack, who is now 15 1/2, so my stories are limited. He had to be 2-3 yrs old & asked for a snack & after some discussion he wanted a carrot. As I am walking into the kitchen to get one out, peel & cut it up he is having ne terrible fit. Finally I got him to settle down & asked what the trouble was when he replied, through sniffing tears & a snotty nose "But momma, I wanna scratch it!! " Meaning he wanted to peel the carrot! I know that isn't as funny as the others but thought I'd share a memory.

great storys!!!!!

all of them were so funny but this is the one that I got the best laugh from!!!!! and I think that I picked this one because Ava was jumping in the crib with Henry like they always do!!! Ava came up stairs were I was feeding the Baby and handed me a rock solid poopy ball and told me that Hank was stinky see here is his poop!!!!!
so here is the winning story!!!!

I was so happy to see a challenge that I could really get into. this was fun, and it has made me want to stay in the stamp room all day. This was like a nice little warm up!!!!! I found the inspiration for this card on Nichole Heady's blog http://nicholeheady.typepad.com/capture_the_moment/2008/03/4.html
I ran mine through the CB and when the card was finished I noticed that the embossed BG was up-side down oh poo, and oh well it is still pretty!!!!! the DP is afternoon tea from SU and I also used guava and cocoa CS the base is SS white CS and I stamped on WW it is smother and the ink lays down better on WW but SS white makes a better card base!!!!
in other news I think I have picked out my fav funny kid story and I will give you that tomorrow so please leave more stories and try to out do my fav !!!!

How Sweet!!!!

I did two cards for jen's SFYTT seen on her blog iheatr2stamp the first one was so much fun, I had to do another! They both pretty much use the same colors. They have the same ribbon SU! buttons on one, and large eyelets on the other!!

the DP is two scoops from basic grey, both cards have so saffron and aqua mist, the card with the flower also uses regale rose, and wild wasabi, I pulled out the cuttle bug for that card. the other card uses always time for you from SU, and mixed massages on both of them!!!! lots of sewing, I love that machine. I think it adds that perfect something when I need just a little more embellishment!!!!

Now for the really sweet part of this blog. Henry and what seems to be his fav place to play!!!! Yes folks that is the toilet, and that in the pot is Hanks baby that he carries with him every were!!! I guess he though it needed a bath, and after that Hank needed one as well!!!!
What I would like from my readers is a story share, a little some thing funny about the children in there lives, what they do, what they say just the thing that make them children! This one was just icing on my cake, it made my day!! Now had he flushed that would have been sooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo bad!!!!!

so please share with me, and I will post a funny kids blog with every bodys story and I think I might have three studo G stamp set for the funnest!!!!

BIG NEWS and a card!!!!

Yes I know it is a little bit of a strange color combo but I had this really pretty ruby flower that I wanted to use and I just could not make it work, and still can't after the ruby was added oh well I love the richness it added to the very cool wasabi and soft sky the DP is SU and so are the button flower and CS! I used out on a limb it will stay one of my favs for ever!!!!!! the trees out side are starting to bloom so that was my inspiration and the sketch is a jacked up try at Beate WSC sorry beate I hacked this one all to HE** !!!! the ribbon is Martha Stewart it is just beautiful!!!!!!

jen's SFYTT

How about some happy spring colors today!!!! I got my two scoops in the mail yesterday along with the new CB folder. I am love'n them both. today we had to take Thatcher to the PEE PEE doctor to have the goods looked at he has some swelling but DOC seemed to think that everything was fine!!!!!! After we left there we could not leave Norfolk with out going to mikes and getting a few thing, the flower and the fake dew drops (hay they look good to me) on the card and the MS butterfly punch and the most beautiful ribbon to see and touch yep it is also Martha Stewart!!! I think that I might need to stop shopping for a while and just play with what I have for a while.......... well the 15 any ways PTI is always a must have for me!!!!
Okay let me talk about the card a minute ribbon and stamps are SU she's all that love this set but it is harder to use than I thought it would be and by that I mean look good!!!!
The CS is spring moss wild wasabi pretty in pink WW and cool caribbean, the DP is Basic grey two scoops and the buttons are some that fell off of some thing around here I stitched each of the corners with needle and EF the prago lady is stamped in regale rose

MOJO and some more new toys!!!!!!

This is this weeks mojo card you can see the sketch here:http://poeticartistry.blogspot.com/2008/03/mojo-monday-week-28.html the card is made using the DP and stamps seen below !! I love them both and could not wait to use them, so when the mail man dropped them off today, I want right to work on this killer sketch!!!
the CS I used is spring moss from PTI and choc chip from SU. I started by running SM through the CB (birds and swirls) then sewing the entire card frond> I think I counted 9 punches used on this card counting the crop a dile I would not have used the corner punch but I got a little off track with the sewing machine!!!! I sponged old paper ink by ranger on the CB BG piece and the mask under the bird who is stamped in mellow moss. I wanted something small for the sentiment that I was not going to put on the card but again I messed up and had to cover up.......ooooops!!!!!!! so I used mixed massages (PTI) , that is like the best sentiment set ever!!!! I cut the oval with my
Coluzzle and craft scissors this was a fun card to make, and I have tow other set of stamps to play with tomorrow!!!

you can find the stamps and DP here: http://www.shopverve.com/
thanks for looking!!!!!! :D

HAPPY BLOG DAY TO ME!!!!!!!

Hi all today my baby blog is one year old and I never really thought when I set it up that I would use it as much as I do! but now that it has been a year I can not stand the thought of not having it. I hate to call y'all cyber friends because you all seem so much more true than past real life friends, I feel like if I meet some of you in person I would be so star struck!!! dose any body else feel that way.
I will be the first to say I love to be seen I crave attention and thanks to this wonderful world of blogger and the super great stamping community I get what I need!!!! The high fives and way to go's keep me in the craft room, and I find myself loving this crafty life a hole lot more every day!!!!
speaking of crafting this super cute set of cards is something I made a couple of days ago it is a set of ten baby announcements I made for an old friend baby sis she is having her first and it is a little boy I am so happy for her!!! and I hope she likes them. I know that I would have loved to have made these when Jasmine was born but........ I had no clue what rubber stamping was 7 years ago I thought that the stamps in the craft store was for the teacher's out there I did not know that you could make something as cute as baby these baby cards I found the template here: http://laurenm.blogs.splitcoaststampers.com/2008/02/05/create-your-own-onesie-card-tutorial-and-important-note-please-read/
they are so easy and what a great gift I think they make for a new mommy!!!!

I started a set of girl cards just to have around but have not finished them yet!!!
I used some old SU DP and bashful blue CS the stamps on this project are Aida cloth BG stamp from SU and Just Hatched from PTI, I used 4 punches on this card, all 4 and the ribbon are also from SU! I got the button at walmart and adhered them with mini glue dots! the little circle says ten little toes!

Now I am posting my weekly kiddo fix and the funny things that they do!!!! Henry thought that he needed a snack so he got it out his self and went and sat by the back door....... for some reason he thinks that we can not see him there and he knows that if he is sitting that we will not take the food from him (I still like to have him sit in the high chair) he looked like a big gorilla he was running on all 4's through the cereal and just having the best time!!! I needed a good laugh and to hear him giggle made me feel great that is the best sound in the whole world music to my ears!!! Happy Birthday to you, Happy Birthday to you, Happy Birthday dear Sarah, Happy Birthday to you. You don't know how lucky you are that you didn't here that in person. As so many of you readers, I too loved "love you forever", but as my oldest started to read, we discovered the Magic Tree house Series. I credit this series in creating two book-o-holics, for it was easy to trick them to continue reading to find out what was going to happen next.Pam from Oromocto, NB"

tHANK YOU SO MUCH TO EVERY BODY WHO COMMENTED i HAVE A GREAT BOOK LIST FOR THE KIDDOS NOW!!!

THE KIDS LOVE THE CUTTLE KIDS!!!!!

Do you want some pros and cons to this cute little toy? First off if you already have a cuttle bug you will not need the kids cuttle you can use the dies for the baby in the big boy. to make the dies work you will need to use an A,B,C plate stack the B, B is not thick enough!
next here is a huge pro the dies are cheap, I got an alphabet set for $12.oo you cant beat that! con the handle might be a bit hard for the kids to turn on there own. Pro it is about half the size of your original CB and stores in much smaller spaces. I let jasmine play with it and she loves it she told me that she knows that it is mine but if I need her to store it on her desk she will what a sweet heart!! I think I am going to give it to her I have the big boy and we can share the dies!!! this is a lot of fun to play with and there were more dies than I think I could keep in my memory and they ranged in price from about $3.00 -$12.00 and the little bug was $19.99!!
Now I have to tell you my fav comment I got on the card I made with this, It was made by Cindy (mothermark) I got a good laugh out of it she said........." Yeah right you went to get milk....went to Walmart to look at what new things they have and picked up milk while I was there! Bwahaha! This is so awesome..I am going there! I just love the simple look of the flower...it is precious! You got the milk on your button run, girlfriend!" what a nut you just cant put any thing over on this lady!!!! alright happy stamping lady's and shopping!!!!

2 sketches

I felt like I was cheating on this card so I added as muck stamping and ink as I could with out over doing it!!!! I just love to find new toys and Jasmine thought this was a good one mostly cause I let her play with it, ans when it comes to my stamp room there is little I am willing to let the kids play with!!!! hay they have there play room and I have mine the kids cant have it all!!!! but it makes Jasmine feel like a cool big kid to play with my stuff and she needs that from time to time!!!!!
the card I used guava choc chip river rock and VV CS afternoon tea DP
the stamps are just hatched and polka dot basics the cuttle kids and buttons both from walmart the brads I got at mike's and every thing else is from SU! I flipped the sketch so that the flower would fit every thing just feel into place for me today!!!!

this is for MOJO27 and this one did not come together as easy as the first can you see the busted eyelet aaaarg and I thing that the colors are a bit mute for my mood today I used thyme Kraft VV river rock and cocoa the same with ink - Kraft the stamps are many...... print pattern, sanded, wonderful you, and define your life. I distressed the large panel and pierced it them added a straight stitch in a not so straight line foe what I think is kind of cool looking!!!! I love the SU ribbon and I HATE EYELETS AAAAAAARRRG again!!!!

TFL! :D
